Daily Lash Hygiene, Reimagined for Extensions

For years, lash extension aftercare has often consisted of a small bottle of foaming lash shampoo used quickly at the sink, sometimes only once a week. Yet lash extensions are worn every day. Their hygiene should be part of a client's daily routine, rather than an occasional intervention when retention starts to decline or discomfort appears.

At Plushee, we didn't simply want to create another lash shampoo. We wanted to change the way clients care for their eyes and extensions at home.

Wearing Extensions Changes Maintenance Needs

Each extension adds density and extra surface area around the lash line. Sebum, dead skin cells, dust, cosmetic residue, and everyday debris can accumulate more easily between the lashes and around the attachment points.

This doesn't mean lash extensions are bad for the eyes. It simply means that an additional element worn continuously requires appropriate, consistent, and effective hygiene.

The lash line is part of a living environment. The eyelids, natural secretions, glands, and tear film work together to protect, lubricate, and cleanse the eye's surface. When this environment is overloaded with residue or inadequately cleansed, some people may experience increased discomfort, dryness, watering, or oily buildup.

Lash Bar™ was created to return to the basics: maintaining a clean lash line every day to help preserve comfort, cleanliness, and the appearance of lash extensions.

A Routine Designed to Be Followed

The problem isn't always just the product being used. It's also the method being taught.

A small bottle left in a drawer and used occasionally requires clients to develop an entirely new habit. Lash Bar™ instead fits into a routine they already have: their daily shower.

Its solid format stays visible, accessible, and easy to use. Combined with a silicone brush and a thorough rinse under a steady stream of lukewarm water, it allows clients to gently clean between extensions and around the lash line, then rinse away loosened debris and residue.

Clients no longer have to guess when or how to wash their extensions. They have a clear method they can easily repeat at home.

Inspired by Eyelid Hygiene

In developing Lash Bar™, Plushee moved away from fragranced cleansers and products whose effectiveness relies on a stripping sensation. Instead, we drew inspiration from the principles of gentleness, rinsability, and compatibility used in cosmetic, dermatological, ophthalmic, and eyelid hygiene routines.

With a pH of 6.8–7.0, Lash Bar™ is formulated within a near-neutral range to cleanse the eye area without introducing an unnecessarily acidic or alkaline formula. It contains no ethanol, denatured alcohol, or added fragrance.

Education Is Part of the Results

A lash artist can create a flawless set, but cannot maintain the extensions on behalf of the client every day. Part of the artist's role is also to provide the knowledge and tools clients need to care for their investment between appointments.

When lash extensions represent an investment, hygiene shouldn't be considered an extra. It should be an essential.

Daily Use Instructions

In the shower, wet Lash Bar™ and the silicone brush with warm water, then create a light lather. Keep the eyes closed and gently cleanse the lash line for approximately 30 seconds. Rinse thoroughly with warm water, allow the extensions to dry, and gently brush them through.

Lash Bar™ is designed to cleanse the eyelids, lashes, and surrounding area. It must not be applied directly inside the eye.
